Burgundy, FranceThe noble Pinot Noir grape makes the wines of Burgundy, the main area of which is known as the Côte d’Or. This area is divided into the Côte de Beaune (South - Haute-Santenay to Beaune), which is famous for Chardonnay wines, and Côte de Nuits (North - Beaune to Fixin) from which the world's best Pinot Noir wines emerge. Burgundian villages, or communes as they are often called, attach the name of their most famous local vineyard at the end of the village name. So you get "Nuits-St-Georges", "Vosne-Romanée" Page under construction ... to be completed at a later date.Last Updated: |
